Brian Robertson Brian Robertson’s varied background includes having held positions as Recruiting and Training Manager for one of British Columbia’s largest contract security service providers, Security Manager for one of Ontario’s largest gaming facilities, and Program Manager for the private security training division of the Police Academy at the Justice Institute of British Columbia.

All in all, Brian draws on nearly two decades of experience in all facets of security personnel management and training.

Brian holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B) from Dalhousie University as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree (B.A.) from Acadia University, and has served as a sessional instructor in legal studies with the Law and Security Administration (LASA) Program at Conestoga College. Nationally-recognized as a leading authority on private security regulation and training standards, Brian has been certified as an expert on private security training by the Supreme Court of BC, currently Chairs the College Liaison Committee for the Toronto Chapter of ASIS International, and writes a widely-read monthly opinion column on issues related to private security regulation, training and management for Canadian Security Magazine.

Brian is the author of two law-related textbooks, and of the popular Security Guard Exam Preparation Guide published by Emond Montgomery Publications in April, 2010. Brian brings unique abilities to the David Hyde & Associates team in the areas of training and awareness program design, policy development, legal and regulatory analysis, and the delivery of tailored security and workplace safety training programs.
